Privacy Policy - GameCam

Last updated: August 16, 2026

GameCam is owned and operated by Veronica Aime Rey, sole proprietor, doing business as GameCam and CourtSide Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the GameCam mobile application ("GameCam" or the "App").

Summary: GameCam does not receive or store your recordings, scores, or streaming credentials. Recordings and account credentials are stored locally on your device. When you choose to stream, media and required account data are transmitted directly to the streaming provider you selected. Some features do use a GameCam-operated server. Taking part in a TikTok contest stores contest data on our server, including the TikTok tokens issued to us, as described in Section 4. The other two are the optional AI Schedule Scanner (sends a schedule photo to Google's Gemini API to read game/practice details; the photo and the extracted text are not stored by us) and Pro subscription verification (confirms your subscription is active with Apple or Google before unlocking certain Pro features).

1. Information handled by GameCam

You can record matches without creating a GameCam account. The App may handle camera video, microphone audio, recordings, clips, scores, team information, logos, player numbers, watermarks, App settings, streaming configuration, connected-account credentials, limited provider account details, a schedule photo you choose to scan, subscription/purchase status supplied by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and — only if you choose to enter a TikTok contest — the TikTok profile and public video information described in Section 4.

2. Camera, microphone, and recordings

GameCam uses your camera and microphone only when you use recording, preview, highlight, or live-streaming features. Media is processed on your device. Recordings and clips are saved locally or to your device gallery. We do not receive a copy on our own servers.

3. Connected streaming accounts and OAuth

Connecting a provider is optional. Authentication is performed by that provider. GameCam stores the resulting credentials locally in App storage so you do not need to reconnect before every match.

When you start a live stream, video and audio are transmitted directly to the selected provider and processed under its policies. Disconnecting removes the local connection; you may also revoke access through the provider.

4. TikTok contests (Campañas)

GameCam runs optional promotional contests that use TikTok. Taking part is entirely voluntary, and every other part of GameCam works without connecting a TikTok account.

When you tap Connect TikTok, TikTok shows you an authorisation screen listing exactly what you are granting: your public profile information (avatar and display name), your profile engagement statistics (including follower count), and your list of public videos. Connecting is also what creates your contest account — the identifier we use for you is derived from the identifier TikTok assigns you.

Unlike the streaming features described above, this one does use a GameCam-operated server, and data is stored there. We store the access and refresh tokens TikTok issues to us, which are kept server-side only and are never sent to the App or readable by any user; your TikTok identifier and display name; and the follower count recorded at the moment you entered, which decides which leaderboard you compete in. For each video you choose to enter we store its TikTok identifier and link, its caption and cover image, and its public counters — views, likes, comments, and shares. While a contest is running we re-read those public counters roughly every two hours to recalculate the leaderboard, and keep one snapshot per day so results can be audited.

We read only the videos you select yourself. GameCam never posts, edits, or deletes anything on your TikTok account, and never reads private videos or messages.

5. Remote control and Apple Watch

The optional remote-control feature runs a temporary service on your local network so another device can control the scoreboard. It uses a temporary access token and is intended to remain on your local network.

On iOS, GameCam also includes an optional Apple Watch companion app for watchOS. When paired, the Watch and your iPhone exchange scoreboard, highlight, and recording controls over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This information stays between your own paired devices; it is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

6. AI Schedule Scanner (GameCam Pro)

GameCam Pro subscribers can optionally scan a photo of a team schedule to add games and practices automatically instead of typing them in by hand. If you use this feature, the photo you choose is sent to a GameCam-operated server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to read event details such as opponent, date, time, and location. The photo and the text Gemini extracts from it are not written to any database or storage we control — only a hashed, non-identifying counter is kept so we can enforce your monthly scan limit. If Gemini is temporarily unavailable, GameCam may fall back to on-device text recognition on supported platforms, which never leaves your device. Photos you submit to this feature are handled under Google's Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.

7. Advertising and purchases

The free version may display Google AdMob advertisements. Depending on your device settings and consent choices, Google may process IP address or coarse location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash data, and performance data for advertising, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and service operation. On Apple devices, GameCam requests App Tracking Transparency permission before accessing the advertising identifier for tracking. Ads can still be shown when permission is denied.

Subscriptions are purchased and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive your payment-card details. To unlock certain GameCam Pro features (such as the AI Schedule Scanner), our server confirms your subscription is genuinely active by checking a purchase or transaction identifier supplied by your device directly with Apple's or Google's own verification service. That identifier is used only for this check and is not linked to any other data we collect.

8. Local storage and retention

Settings, recordings, streaming credentials, connected-account tokens, and related details remain locally on your device until you remove them by disconnecting providers, deleting recordings, clearing GameCam storage, or uninstalling the App. Streams already sent to a provider must be deleted through that provider.

9. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. Information is sent to a streaming provider only when you connect it or request a stream. A schedule photo is sent to Google's Gemini API only when you use the AI Schedule Scanner, as described in Section 6. Google and participating advertising partners may receive the advertising and diagnostic data described above to provide and measure ads. Apple or Google processes subscription purchases and related platform functionality.

10. Security

On Apple devices, GameCam uses protected App storage and the iOS Keychain for streaming credentials. On other supported devices, it uses platform-provided App storage. Provider-supported authentication is used for YouTube and Twitch. Protect your device, accounts, and stream keys, and disconnect accounts before transferring your device.

11. Children's privacy and recording others

GameCam is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in the user's jurisdiction. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required before recording or streaming players, spectators, or minors.

12. Your choices and deletion

You may change camera, microphone, photo-library, local-network, and tracking permissions in your device settings; disconnect YouTube or Twitch; remove saved stream keys; revoke GameCam through the applicable provider; delete recordings; or uninstall the App. Disconnecting TikTok inside GameCam signs you out on that device; on its own it neither revokes our access nor erases contest records. To revoke access, remove GameCam in TikTok’s own settings (Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions). Entries, scores, and the follower count recorded at entry are retained while a contest runs and afterwards as the record of its results; to have yours deleted, write to us at the address in Contact. See our Data Deletion Instructions.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy as GameCam changes. The revised date will appear at the top.
